Porthchapel is a south-west-facing beach lying in a sheltered location between Porthcurno and Porthgwarra. Seals are regular visitors and can often be seen from the beach swimming in the clear blue waters. As with many of the beaches in the area, access to the beach is difficult, involving a rock climb down from a narrow cliff path. As such it is only suitable for the fittest . At the end of the lane, park in car park in a farmers field and cross back over the lane and follow the path down to the cove.
